Research Assistant Position at the American University in Cairo (AUC)
Seeking a full-time Research Assistant (RA) to work on a funded project at the American University in Cairo to develop a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) (P300 and Steady-state Visual Evoked Potential) system.
The RA will be responsible for developing the software of the system which involves Electroencephalography (EEG) signal processing, feature extraction and machine learning algorithms. Experiments involving human participants will be conducted to evaluate the developed BCI system.
This position is full-time providing a monthly stipend and full tuition-waiver for MSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering at the AUC to be completed in 3 years. Interested PhD students will also be considered and will be provided with a partial tuition waiver to earn their PhD degree from the AUC.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong background in Machine Learning and Signal Processing.
- Extensive programming experience using Python.
- Interest in BCI and/or Neuroscience.
- Strong organizational and writing skills.
- Strong command of the English language both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with EEG signals analysis and/or BCIs.
- Prior research experience in the field of Neuroengineering.
- Research publication in a related field.
